This September, The Parlor will release their 5th full length album: Sun By Day | Moon By Night, an eclectic 20-track double LP conceived as a vinyl-sequenced psychological concept album. An 80-minute journey through dream-gaze, neo-psychedelic rock, grunge textures, and sound collage. At its core, the album explores psychological shadow work and the movement from daylight persona into nocturnal self-confrontation.

Described as ‘a lost 90s college-radio obscurities compilation,’ and “a soundtrack for cult initiation,” Sun By Day | Moon By Night draws inspiration from artists like Brian Jonestown Massacre, Mazzy Star, Velvet Underground, Broadcast, Pixies, Breeders, Nirvana, Warpaint, Flaming Lips, and My Morning Jacket, while incorporating influences from Ethiopian jazz, Sub-Saharan psych-rock, freak folk, and jangly British invasion classic rock.

S I N G L E S:

  • The Sacred is the Sweetest” (Apr 2026) introduces the album’s central tension: beauty and darkness braided together through jangly guitars, dreamlike atmosphere, and driving British invasion riffs – reminiscent of Brian Jonestown and Mazzy Star.
  • Jung Christ Cobain” (Jun 2026) blasts off like a track from Nirvana or The Dandy Warhols, announcing a return home, then quickly morphs into a psycho-philosophical Zepplin-esque chorus, before transforming into a confessional emo psalm for universal forgiveness. Love your enemies or reject your enemies? Carl Jung’s theories of the psyche allow that both attitudes can coexist in harmony in the individuated, bringing the hearts of Christ and Cobain into balance, and sewing compassion as much for the self as for all others. “Love or confusion? It isn’t really just about love.
  • HSPs Don’t You Ever Get Numb” (May 2026) is an anthem for Highly Sensitive Persons, channeling vulnerability into a cathartic dream-grunge incantation. With hazy melodic verses giving way to explosive alt dynamics and emotional lift, calling to mind modern bands Wednesday, Slow Pulp, and Momma.
  • Mountain Song” (Sept 2025) is a delay-heavy, chilled back version of Jane’s Addiction driving alt-rock classic. Throwing vibes of Black Angels, Warpaint, and Butthole Surfers.
  • Don’t Go Back To Sleep” (Jun 2026) is a musical prayer, containing lyrics by Sufi mystic poets Rumi and Hafez. A spiritual invocation inviting the Self to awaken to Truth. With an atmosphere of a rugged out opium den or a cavernous hermitage, it evokes the droning shoegaze of The Velvet Underground and the shadowy psychedelia of Mazzy Star.
  • Worcester County Laketown” (July 24, 2026) Sweetly abrasive indie rock, with hints of Modest Mouse, 50s rock & roll, psych-folk, and a vaguely reggae bassline. Lyrics explore addiction, inherited trauma, religion, and growing up in rural Massachusetts, then explode into guttural chorus: “Throw my body in the water, watch me disappear into oblivion.

UPCOMING SINGLES:

  • “Open Your Eyes I Love You” (August 21, 2026) is an ecstatic indie psych journey blending the hypnotic guitar pulse of Zamrock and Sub-Saharan psych with surf rock energy and 60s French pop romanticism. Think Bombino, WITCH, Dick Dale, and Khruangbin filtered through shimmering indie production and ethereal Astrud Gilberto-inspired vocals. Where soaring “I love you” refrains and wordless melodies dance alongside the lead guitar line.
